The hotel was constructed on a land of 85 000 square meter (21 acres) bordering a sandy beach.

It was first opened on the 1st of April 1981.

Since the end of 2009, the hotel is managed by Iberostar under the brand name "Iberostar Diar El Andalous".

The hotel comprises the following :

• A total number of 301 rooms (609 beds) including 294 double rooms, 4 junior suites and 1 presidential suite.
• A covered and heated swimming pool and an open-air swimming pool.
• Two restaurants characterized by their local and international cuisine.
• A Moorish café
• A bowling room.
• A night club.
• A beach club.
• 10 quick tennis courts and 3 sand courts.
• A slimming and beauty care center.
• A fitness center with saunas and massage rooms.
• Three multipurpose rooms seating up to 500 persons
